How does CLS work?
CLS reads the advertising text and image files from your classified business system and builds a runsheet of the items. CLS is flexible about classification names, so it can speak the same language as your front-end system. CLS then examines the liners and display ads against your pagination rules and flows them to pages.
You tell CLS where items start, stop, continue or break; how headers are placed over items and which headers are used; where display items are positioned; and how one type of item influences the placement of other types. You also set controls for multi-directional flowing, automatic page-squaring, automatic vertical justification, auto-selection and insertion of fillers, and automatic line-ruling.

CLS builds your entire classified section with a few mouse clicks, including special sections and service directories anywhere on single or multiple pages, with other classifications flowing around them. The result? Tight, neat classifieds, often in fewer pages, built exactly the way you like.

CLS Horizontal Flow Module
Quickly place ads in rows
Unlike conventional publishers who flow ads vertically, specialty publishers of real estate guides and autotrader publications require the Horizontal Flow module, which places ads in rows. Rows can be set up just like columns, and ads can be placed horizontally across a page or into a user-definable grid system. The Horizontal Flow module augments the standard set of pagination controls to include complex functions such as centering within a cell and positioning items into specific cell positions on a page with specific cell gravity.
CLS HTML Report Generator
Easily build Web-based reports for universal viewing
The CLS HTML Report Generator Module lets you create custom reports from the CLS issue, or you can select a pre-defined report from the File menu. The report is immediately created and can be viewed with any Web browser. In addition to HTML, reports can be exported as straight text or XML. The HTML Report Generator can count ads and pages, generate subtotals or totals for section measurements, and much more.

CLS is compatible with QuarkXPress versions 6.5-7.3 and InDesign CS2-CS3. It comes bundled with CLS XT and AdImport Plug-in, which allow paginators to import a CLS issue into QuarkXPress or InDesign. CLS XT and AdImport Plug-in are available for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
